I know I am always writing posts about Sam and how it's always one thing or another with him, but hey...that's my life right now. I am happy to report, first of all, that he is doing amazingly well without the binky and if I would have known it was going to be this easy I would have tried this a long time ago!! He doesn't ever to seem to remember it and when he does, he quickly gets over it...like he knows he is a big boy and doesn't need it. Of course there are those times where I am thinking, "If only he still had his binky..." because I know there are certain situations he would do better in with it, but that's all a part of growing up!
Nap and night times are good and normal without it. When he does have episodes at night, we know he would be having them even if he still had the binky because he was having them before we took him off of it. But he goes down great...we figured out that to put him down peacefully at night we need to leave the hall light on until he's asleep. It's amazing how much that does! It's like magic! Last night was the first night with his new night light and he didn't wake up at all throughout the night which was wonderful!! But it could just be a good night...we will see.
Another thing that I am sure has been effecting the terribleness of his sleeping is his teething. He has been teething for so long and I am just trying to wait patiently for it to be over with! When I first noticed the teeth coming through (hopefully the last ones for a really long time!) it was forever ago and then they seemed to have went back down and now coming through again. So it's been a long month. Especially these last few days. He cries when he chews on anything and even when I give him a kiss on the cheek. He has been SO cranky and needy and impossible. He is definitely in the terrible twos and this just makes it worse.
So, anyway...that's all that has been going on with us lately! Hopefully I will have more exciting things to report of soon.
